LIE #55 On June 5, Obama stated that Jerusalem must remain undivided: June 6 on CNN he reversed his position but denied he had done so

According to the Associated Press, on June 5 2008, the 41st anniversary of Israel being attacked by all its neighbors in what is widely known as the Six Day War, "Obama told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee that "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided. The remark Wednesday followed an endorsement of peace talks with the Palestinians to form an independent state."

By Wednesday the Arab media and his army of Extreme Left Wing media friends were furious. So on Thursday, Obama went on his favorite TV channel CNN, and was asked if that didn't send the wrong signal to Palestinians who look to the United States to be an honest broker in negotiations with Israel.

"Obviously, it's going to be up to the parties to negotiate a range of these issues," Obama told CNN. "And Jerusalem will be part of the negotiations."

By using the word obviously in talking to CNN, Obama is misleading the public into believing that his subsequent statement that Jerusalem will be part of the negotiations is so clear that it really didn't need to be said.

This is disingenuous. Only 24 hours earlier he had received an ovation for his statement that Jerusalem must remain undivided. Instead of milking the applause he could easily of clarified his earlier statement if he suspected for a nanosecond that there was confusion among the excited pro-Israel crowd.

There was no confusion, He said,"Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided." To suggest that its "obvious" that what he meant was "Jerusalem will be part of the negotiations." is a blatant act of deception.
